Community Gardening Program
Program Overview
Our seven community gardens are all located in Salt Lake County, Utah. Each garden is divided into individual plots, which are rented annually by families who would like to grow their own vegetables.
Before applying for a community garden plot, please read our organic standards and our community gardening program guidelines. Then fill out a plot application.
There is an annual plot rental fee which varies by garden. We also expect our gardeners to volunteer to take care of common areas in the garden. In return, we provide access to water, gardening tools, helpful information about gardening, and your very own space to grow fresh, healthy food.
Please note that all of our community gardens are currently full and we may or may not have plots available for the 2012 growing season (with the exception of the two new gardens in Harmony Park, Magna and Milcreek - if interested in these gardens, contact Giles Larsen at 801-359-2658 x16). We do, however, have a waiting list and would recommend that you fill out a plot application to get your name on the list. We will contact you when you are next on the list. Here's how the waiting list works.
Gardening Organically
Our gardens are organic, which means that we do not allow the use of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, or weed killers. Please read our organic standards for more information.
