Junior Farmers

The newest way for youth groups to join us in the garden!

Junior Farmers is a program designed to give youth groups (Ages 4-17) the opportunity to participate and experience first hand the work we do at our productive urban garden in downtown Salt Lake City.

This 1-2 hour program includes:

  • A tour of the Grateful Tomato Garden, including our straw bale greenhouse, hoop house, artesian well, and compost system;
  • The opportunity to learn and participate in seasonal garden activities, which may include planting, harvesting, weeding, watering, and composting;
  • A gathering space for participant led activities such as group discussion, refreshments, or in the case of birthday gatherings, cake and gifts.
