Proper pruning is critical to ensure that your fruit trees stay healthy and produce the highest quality fruit. In this popular workshop, our expert instructor will help you select the most effective pruning tools and determine how to properly prune fruit trees with various growth habits to maximize their health and productivity.
Students will have an opportunity to observe the pruning of our younger pear, Asian pear, apple, plum, nectarine, pluot, and aprium trees, and can practice what they learn by pruning our mature fruit trees under the guidance of the instructor. Our teaching gardens also feature the unusual columnar-type apples and a mini dwarf nectarine, so students will observe the whole range of fruiting fun!
Note that this workshop will not address other aspects of fruit tree care, such as variety selection, watering, fertilizing, or disease and pest management. Please see our separate Organic Fruit Tree Care class for in depth training on those topics.
This workshop has a limited number of spots available and is expected to sell out quickly, so please register ahead of time! Registration closes at 3pm the day before class. No walk-ins permitted the day of class.
