This is an informal, hands-on working lab in our demonstration garden beds at the Grateful Tomato Garden. Each student will receive handouts on the basics of planting cool season crops including assorted greens, root crops, and peas. As we work together to read seed packets and direct sow the seeds in our beds, we'll discuss topics such as when to plant which crops, days to maturity, seed spacing, seed planting depth, and seed planting techniques such as single-row/furrow planting and wide-row/broadcast planting. Every student will get to plant some seeds as well as some seedlings that have been started in the greenhouse.\NPlease come dressed for being outside and for working in the garden, and feel free to bring garden gloves if you have a favorite pair. \NThis workshop has a limited number of spots available!\NIf heavy rain or snow is expected on April 7th, we will cancel THE DAY BEFORE the event via EMAIL, so please check your email inbox if the weather looks iffy! \NNOTE: Because of the limited number of spaces available, we are unable to issues refunds for no-shows.
