Summer In A Jar Canning Series: Bottle Your Brandywines

Description

Summer In A Jar Canning Series is co-sponsored by Wasatch Community Gardens, Urban Food Connections of Utah, & Slow Food Utah, hosted at Harmon’s City. Learn to preserve your fresh produce.

They may not actually be Brandywines, but they'll be fabulous, locally-grown heirloom tomatoes that we'll rinse, chop and learn to can under the expert direction of Alison Einerson, the magical and marvelous Manager of the Downtown Farmers Market.

Alison will choose the best available tomatoes from the farmer's market and bring them to the Harmon's City Creek teaching kitchen where she will instruct us on the proper tools and skills associated with the water bath canning technique. We'll prepare a few different tomato canning recipes under her supervision in this "up-to-your-elbows-in-tomatoes" hands-on canning class.

Each student will get to take home the working knowledge to can independently, along with a jar of homemade goodness and some tomato canning recipes!

Please note: No refunds are able to be given for any reason for cancellations received within 48 hours of the class
