Date
Sep 14, 2024 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location
Wasatch Community Gardens Campus, 629 East 800 South, Salt Lake City

Description

Join Wasatch Community Gardens, PBS Utah, and local chef Johndel Yarisantos for a hands-on demonstration of seasonally customizing pickling brines for all things garden-grown! Attendees will learn the uses and benefits of aromatic herbs in pickled or preserved foods, while taking home their own jar of handmade pickled green papaya! To register for this in-person event, please click the button below.

For those unable to attend the in-person workshop, it will also be live streamed on the Modern Gardner YouTube channel and Wasatch Community Gardens YouTube Channel. An ingredient list will be posted on the Modern Gardner YouTube channel a week before the event so that you can make the recipe at home.

Johndel Yarisantos moved to Utah when he was 15 years old after living in California, Guam, and the Philippines. An avid foodie, John worked as a sushi chef for six years and now operates a catering business specializing in Filipino and Hawaiian cuisines. John’s family-style approach to food creates a space to share culture, traditions, and good eats with the community.
