2019 Meet the Red Wigglers: Vermicomposting with Kate Whitbeck

Description

Would you like to make your own compost but don't have the outdoor space? Are you tired of not putting your kitchen scraps to good use?  Do you already compost but want to do more to create fertile garden soil?  If so, come join us at the Grateful Tomato Garden to learn how to make compost indoors year-round using worms!  After going over some basics, we'll meet some "red wigglers" up close!  We'll practice sorting worms from their castings, so plan to get a bit dirty during this part of the workshop. For those staying to make their own worm bins to take home, we'll make some fresh bedding for our red wigglers and make our worm bins.  No walk-ins or day-of registration.  On-line pre-registration required.

NOTE:  This popular workshop sells out every year and will be held rain or shine.  No refunds are able to be issued for this particular workshop because of the supplies and worms that we need to purchase in advance for each student and the limited number of students we can accommodate in this class.  If you've registered and find you're unable to attend, please email Marybeth no later than 10 am Tuesday morning, June 4th, to see if we have anyone on a waiting list who could take your place.  Otherwise, your tuition and fees will be forfeited.
