2022 In-Person Class: Tomato Caging & Trellising

Description

If you've struggled to manage your large indeterminate tomatoes in the past, this class will give you solid hands-on experience with low-cost and effective techniques to keep them upright and easy to harvest.

Come join us at the Wasatch Community Gardens' Campus teaching gardens as we compare and contrast all sorts of commercially available and DIY tomato cages, stakes, and trellising systems.  Students will install cages, practice Florida weave, and learn our favorite way to manage a row of indeterminates.

Please come dressed for being outside and for working in the garden, and feel free to bring garden gloves if you have a favorite pair.  Please come prepared with sunscreen and water bottle, and don't forget your mask :-)

This workshop has a limited number of spots available and is expected to sell out quickly.  No walk-ins permitted the day of class, so please register on-line ahead of time.

If heavy rain is expected, we may cancel THE DAY BEFORE the event via EMAIL, so please check your email inbox (and SPAM folder) if the weather looks iffy!
