2023 Foundations in Organic Vegetable Gardening: A 6-Part Series in Growing Your Own Food

Would you like to have a swoon-worthy garden but just don't know where to start? The six sessions included in this extended course have been designed to provide you with all the organic gardening fundamentals you need and are being offered a great bundled price. You'll get the best of the basics in these classes including a background on organic philosophy and principles, building great soil, knowing what to plant (and when, where and how!), fertilizing, site planning/garden design, and much more. Plus, you'll get Q&A time with our expert instructors to discuss your personal gardening questions and needs.

Please be aware that not all the classes are the same length; specific details are below.  Five of the six sessions are on Wednesday evenings, and the final class (3 hours in length) is on a Saturday afternoon.

COVID/masks:  As of November 15, 2022, Salt Lake County is at low community transmission levels, during which masks are optional for in-person gatherings in WCG's indoor spaces.  We invite you to wear a mask during class based on your personal preference, informed by your personal level of risk.  WCG COVID policy states that masks are mandatory in indoor spaces for in-person gatherings when COVID-19 community levels are moderate or high. If community transmission levels rise from low to moderate or high prior to these indoor classes beginning on January 25, we will notify you and remind you to please bring a mask to class.  During registration, you will be asked to read and agree to our COVID safety agreement.
