Location
Wasatch Community Gardens Campus, 629 East 800 South, Salt Lake City

Description

The original class on Saturday February 15 at 10:00am is now full and has a waitlist. Due to this high demand, we are offering an additional session of this class on Saturday February 22 at 10:00am. For more details, please see below.

Pruning helps to ensure that your fruit trees stay healthy, manageable and produce high quality fruit. In this hands-on workshop, we will discuss pruning tools, goals and techniques, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to properly prune different types of fruit trees. Participants will observe demonstrations and practice pruning on several varieties of both pomme (apple, pear, quince) and stone (apricot, plum, NectaPlum, Aprium) fruit trees. While we may share some tips about pests and disease as we encounter examples during class, we will focus primarily on pruning. Please see our Organic Fruit Tree Care Calendar for comprehensive pest and disease guidance.
