WCG field trips are designed to enforce cross-cutting concepts and meet SEEd standards for grades K-6. Our tour alone meets at least one standard from each grade level (including but not limited to K.2.2; 1.2.2; 2.2.2; 3.2.;, 4.1.1; 5.3.1; 6.4.2).

Field Trip Details
- Field Trips take place on our WCG Main Campus (629 E 800 S).
- Each trip is 90 minutes long.
- Each field trip includes a garden tour, healthy snack,, and seasonal, grade-level-specific activity led by our experienced youth educators.
Group Size
- Kindergarten field trips are limited to 25 students. 1 adult chaperone is required for every 5 students.
- 1st-6th grade field trips are limited to 35 students. 1 adult chaperone is required for every 10 students.
- Please note that if your group is larger than the limits above, you will need to book two field trip sessions. Additional adult chaperones are welcome to join.
2026 Field Trip Schedule & Registration
Spring: March 31-May 27
- Priority registration opens for Title 1 Schools: February 2, 2026
- Registration open for all schools: February 16, 2026
- Slots are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the morning (9:30-11am) or afternoon (12-1:30pm), and Fridays in the morning (9:30-11am)
Fall: Dates TBA

- September - October

Cost
- Field trips are free for public schools in Salt Lake County.
- There is a $75 flat fee per group for private and charter schools.
- SLCSD Bus Reimbursements: SLCSD Title 1 schools are eligible for a bus reimbursement from WCG and SLEF. There are a limited number of reimbursements available. Please indicate in your request if you are seeking reimbursement for this expense.

Salt Lake City School District Schools: Booking a field trip required previous administrative approval from the principal. Please ensure your administrators approve your field trip.
