2022 In Person Class (Sat): Tomato Planting Tips & Tricks

Description

Are you ready to plant your tomatoes, but you've got some questions like "How far apart should they be planted?  What do I do with really leggy tomatoes?  Can I pinch off any lower leaves? Should I use compost or fertilizer? What about companion plants for tomatoes?"

Come join us in our Teaching Gardens as we plant tomatoes together and answer all of your tomato-planting questions.  We'll compare deep planting and trench planting techniques as we discuss proper plant spacing according to plant variety, and we reveal a host of other tips for how to increase your tomato productivity and plant health.

Please come dressed for being outside and for working in the garden, and feel free to bring garden gloves if you have a favorite pair.  Please come prepared with sunscreen, water bottle, and don't forget your mask :-)

This workshop has a limited number of spots available and is expected to sell out quickly.  No walk-ins permitted the day of class, so please register on line ahead of time.

If rain is expected we will cancel THE DAY BEFORE the event via EMAIL, so please check your email inbox (and SPAM folder) if the weather looks iffy!
