2022 Live Webinar: Get Ready to Sow Fall Crops!

Description

Fresh lettuce and mizuna in November?  Rainbow carrots and crisp baby turnips at Thanksgiving?  Aphid-free kale in November?  You bet!

One of the best-kept gardening secrets is that you can harvest luscious and healthy fall crops in October, November and beyond with just a little planning and know-how.  At this webinar-based workshop, students will learn the basics of fall planting, including which crops tend to do best during the shortening days of autumn, how to get your cool season vegetable seeds to germinate in the heat of late July or early August, how to boost the plants' productivity throughout the fall, and how to extend your harvest season into the dead of winter with low-tunnels, hoop houses, and cold frames. This is a great opportunity to ask all your fall crop and season extender questions.

NOTE:  This workshop is being offered as a live webinar using Demio.  Registered students will receive a webinar link with instructions a day or two prior to class.  The presentation will be about 2 hours and 15 minutes plus a brief Q&A.  Students are invited to use the chat feature to participate and ask questions!

This workshop is $25.

Discounted rates available to community gardeners with WCG or the WCG Network.

Pre-Registration is required.  Deadline for registration is July 20 at 6:00 pm.

NOTE: No refunds will be issued for cancellations once the webinar link has been emailed to students.  The webinar will be recorded and will be available to registered students to view afterwards.  We offer reduced-tuition scholarships for low-income individuals.  If you would like to apply, please fill out and submit our scholarship application before continuing the on-line registration process.
