Having a Food Safe School Garden
Snacking and eating out in the garden is the best part about having a school garden! In order to keep it all fun and games, and avoid any food related illnesses, be sure to look to both the Utah State Department of Health and the USDA tips for maintaining a food safe garden. Basic food safety isn't too hard in the garden - it just takes a bit of extra precaution. Just like there are different rules for commercial kitchens, there are a few different rules for gardens that students are going to be eating out of.
