As Director of Employment Cultivation, Susie oversees Wasatch Community Gardens’ initiatives in partnership with Climb Wyoming. Susie grew up in Northern Michigan and realized how gardening and agriculture brings people together as she spent her summer days helping out at her family’s garden center. Susie holds a degree in Community Governance and Advocacy from Michigan State University.

Before moving to Utah, she worked in educator engagement at a science center in Detroit. Susie also spent three years in Hazard, Kentucky where she taught middle school science with Teach For America. Since moving to Salt Lake, she has enjoyed hiking and climbing the Wasatch with her husband, exploring the marvels of Southern Utah, and rooting into the SLC community.

Susie is passionate about learning new things and helping others learn new things! Her greatest joy comes from helping others realize their full potential through community and she is excited to continue learning and growing alongside program participants.
