Katie was hired as Executive Director in 2025. She oversees fiduciary and contractual responsibilities, while also driving the vision, plan and growth of the organization. Since joining WCG, Katie has focused on building the internal structures needed to support a growing organization and building external partnerships to broaden and share WCG’s community impact. Katie received her Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University. She has spent the previous five years overseeing marketing and external relations functions at WCG. Prior to her nonprofit work, Katie spent 15+ years in business development and communications roles in the professional services sector.
Katie first came to be involved with Wasatch Community Gardens as a gardener in the 4th East Community Garden, having joined the garden to integrate into the community after relocating to Salt Lake City from Chicago. She is thrilled to be promoting urban agriculture in Utah, and she delights in the discoveries that gardening and community connection bring. In her non-WCG hours, she may be found camping, mountain biking, and exploring Utah’s back roads.
