Madalyn Covey (she/her) is the Grants Director at Wasatch Community Gardens, where she oversees foundation, corporate, and government grant activities to support the organization’s mission to empower people to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food.

She joined WCG in 2023 as a Community Garden Program Manager, overseeing the operations of seven community gardens containing over 200 gardeners. During her time in that role, she strengthened program systems, deepened gardener engagement, and connected gardeners to resources to support increased access to growing space throughout Salt Lake County.

Before joining WCG, she worked at Encircle, an LGBTQ+ Youth and Family Resource Center, where she gained experience in nonprofit operations, program evaluation, event planning, volunteer management, and data reporting. Earlier in her career, she founded and operated a floral design business, managing logistics for high-end events nationally. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Management with a minor in Business.

Madalyn loves helping people feel more connected to where they live, and believes there is no better way to do that than growing food. When she’s not writing grant proposals, she’s often out hiking in the mountains and learning the names of local wildflowers.
