Josh Shutkind

Josh Shutkind (he/him) is thrilled to join the Wasatch Community Gardens team as the Community Garden Program Manager. Before turning his focus to sustainability, Josh had a career as a professional ballet dancer with Ballet West. After retiring from the stage, he discovered a deep passion for pollinators, working as a beekeeper, supporting native bee conservation, and creating vibrant green spaces. Inspired by the work of WCG for years, he is excited to now be part of the team making that vision a reality in Salt Lake City. Joshua holds a BS in Environment and Sustainability Studies and brings experience in community engagement, program coordination, and fostering connections between people and nature. He looks forward to applying his collaborative spirit to support WCG’s mission of growing and sharing healthy, sustainable food. When not at work, Joshua enjoys hiking Utah’s trails, spending time in the garden admiring bees, and going on adventures with his partner and their dog, Cookie.
