As a child, Moriah could be found playing in the dirt, taking things apart to learn how they worked, drawing, and proclaiming that she loved dogs more than anyone else in the whole world. Today, not much has changed aside from overcoming her fear of spiders and understanding that others also share her love of dogs. As a lifelong Utahn with a boundless love of community building, healthy food access, and environmental justice, Moriah is thrilled to serve as the Community Garden Site Manager for WCG! You can find her at the community gardens working on irrigation, helping her coworkers, and geeking out over plants, birds, and native bees. Before her time at WCG, Moriah studied psychology, chemistry, and nutrition at the University of Utah and completed a master's degree in horticulture from Utah State University. She has worked as a conservationist for nearly a decade, primarily focusing on water conservation, ecological restoration, and environmental education. She is excited to serve the community and expand her knowledge of sustainable urban agriculture at WCG! Last, but definitely not least, Moriah is mom to a self-proclaimed mermaid princess, two adorable, energetic dogs, and married to her longtime partner and best friend, Nick.
