Director of External Relations
Sara joins Wasatch Community Gardens with 15 years of experience across the nonprofit, government, and tech sectors. As Director of External Relations at WCG, Sara works with a talented team to guide development, communications, and outreach while building strong relationships with donors and the community. Prior to joining WCG, Sara led strategic communications and fundraising initiatives at EDCUtah, where she worked closely with board members and community partners. Sara is driven by a love for mission-driven work and a passion for connecting with the world around her.
Community-based agriculture is one of Sara’s lifelong interests. Studying coffee-grower cooperatives in Oaxaca and transcribing interviews with immigrant farmworkers in upstate New York taught Sara the politics of land and food early in life. Everywhere Sara has lived, she’s sought out a farmer’s market, community garden, or farm-to-city program where she can ground herself in a sense of community.
Outside of work, Sara loves spending time with her daughter and making time for things that keep her curious and inspired: gardening, reading, singing, cooking, riding her bike, enjoying live music and the outdoors, and taking herself on “artist dates.”
