Raised amidst the woods and waters of rural Maine, Hannah has embraced dirt under her fingernails since “helping” in her family’s large gardens throughout her childhood. Her parents fondly recall how they discovered that the creature nibbling peas directly off the vine was actually their two-year-old Hannah, who had not yet learned how to pick the peas.

Passion for the outdoors inspired her to move to the Rockies to study Ecology and Environmental Science at Western State Colorado University. While studying (and doing a lot of skiing) she volunteered with nonprofits including the Western State Mountain Rescue Team and SheJumps. Skiing brought her to Utah, and many other things have made it home, from the deserts, rivers, and mountains to the incredible communities dedicated to making the world a better place for all. In 2012 Hannah established her career as a nonprofit professional working for TreeUtah, HEAL Utah, and the Utah Avalanche Center. She’s excited to join the staff, volunteers, and community members who make Wasatch Community Gardens such an incredible organization. When she’s not gardening (harvesting backyard cherries, raspberries, grapes, peaches…) or skiing, Hannah is likely hiking, mountain biking, or otherwise exploring with her husband, son, dog, and friends.
