Wasatch Community Gardens - WCG Farm to Table Dinner

WCG Farm to Table Dinner

Join us for an unforgettable evening under twinkling greenhouse lights at Wasatch Community Gardens' City Farm. On September 24th WCG will hold its inaugural Farm-to-Table Dinner, featuring a thoughtfully crafted seasonal menu by Chef Liza Saracini of Florabelle, showcasing ingredients grown by farmers at WCG’s Farm Incubator Group Site (FIGS). Together, we'll celebrate the connections that nourish our community, learn about WCG’s new Farm Incubator Program and invest in a future where everyone has access to healthy local food. Every ticket purchased directly supports Wasatch Community Gardens' critical community programs, empowering thousands of people across Salt Lake County to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food. All produce served at the dinner will come from local farmers, including WCG’s City Farm, with every farm receiving full market value for their produce.

What Your Ticket Supports

Your ticket also supports our mission to empower people to grow and eat healthy, organic, local food which we carry out via our 6 programs including Adult Education, Advocacy & Justice, Community Gardens, Farm-Based Job Training, Volunteering, and Youth & School. The growers featured at the Farm-to-Table Dinner are part of our developing Farm Incubator Program, a new track in the Farm-Based Job Training Program, to support local farmers through education, land access, job training, and community resources. The program aims to encourage new and existing farmers to enter - and stay - in the field and build our local food system.

Volunteers

Wasatch Community Gardens' City Farm

WCG’s City Farm is nestled in the heart of the Glendale agri-hood in Salt Lake City, and it serves as the host site for our Job Training Program’s Green Team for women facing or experiencing homelessness. Green Team participants grow most of the seedlings sold at our Spring Plant Sale, as well as organic produce that helps feed thousands of low-income individuals and families annually through WCG programs and community partnerships. City Farm is 100% solar-powered, certified Organic under the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food, and serves as a research and demonstration site for regenerative agriculture and permaculture techniques.

Local Food Systems, Local Community

Join local foodies, farmers, and friends as we celebrate our urban farming community with a beautiful 3 course dinner crafted by Chef Liza Sarancini of Florabelle. With a background in artisan cooking, teaching, and sustainable food systems, Liza believes food is one of the most powerful tools for connection. The meal will feature seasonal ingredients grown by farmers at WCG's Farm Incubator Group Site (FIGS), and throughout the evening you'll hear directly from the growers about their experiences with urban farming and the journeys that brought these fresh, locally grown ingredients from the field to your plate.
