Our TOTAL TOMATO BUNDLE allows you to register for FIVE WORKSHOPS at a bundled (reduced) price:
- Seed Starting in the Greenhouse (Working Lab), Saturday, March 10th from 2-4pm
- Potting Up in the Greenhouse (Working Lab), Saturday, April 7th from 10-12 noon
- All About Tomatoes, Saturday, April 21st from 2-4pm
- Tomato Planting Tips and Tricks (Working Lab), Thursday, May 17th from 6-8pm
- Tomato Pruning and Trellising (Working Lab), Wednesday, June 13th from 6-pm
Join us in our straw bale greenhouse on March 10th for a hands-on working lab where we will plant rare varieties of tomato and pepper seeds into seed flats. As we sow the seeds, we will cover the basics of indoor seed starting, including how to create (or purchase) a soil-less potting medium, and which supplies to use for the greatest success.
Come back to the greenhouse on Saturday, April 7th to practice potting up our baby seedlings and learn how to harden them off for transplanting. Participants attending both workshops in this bundle will get to choose one tomato or pepper seedling to take home. None of these varieties will be available at our Spring Plant Sale!
Tomato varieties will include: Lucky Tiger, Yellow Radiance, Chocolate Sprinkles, Dragons Eye, Inca Jewels, Pandorino, Napa Chardonnay, Egg Yolk, and Pink Icicle.
Pepper varieties will include: Habanada, Midnight Dreams, Himo Togarashi, Pizza My Heart, Golden Cayenne, Napolean Sweet, and Sugar Rush Peach.
Next is All About Tomatoes on April 21st, and this is one of the most popular workshops we have! This is a rockin’ presentation in an indoor classroom, but we’ll have seedlings on hand for demo purposes.
We end the series with two outdoor working labs, where we work together on May 17th to plant a 34’ long bed of tomatoes and learn all sorts of tips and tricks for increasing your tomato plants’ productivity, flavor and health, and then come back and learn how to prune and trellis them on June 13th.
