2018 Winding Down for Winter

Registration is closed for this event

Our summer crops are nearly done producing, we've sown our fall crops, and the first fall frost is right around the corner.  What should we be doing in our gardens now that it's October?

Come join us as we tour the Grateful Tomato Garden and review the types of tasks we should be doing to prep our gardens for winter.  Hands-on activites in the teaching garden will include tearing our spent crops, practicing "chop and drop" mulching, turning in fall leaves and the appropriate amendments, and constructing a simple season-extending low-tunnel hoop house.  We'll have a tool cleaning station set-up for use at the end of class, so please feel free to bring a trowel or spade from home to clean!
